Tristan & Alissa’s Wedding | Backwoods Event Center

If I had to describe Tristan and Alissa’s wedding in one phrase, it would be “filled with emotion.” From Alissa’s exuberant laughter and the bridal party’s high energy, to Mom’s quiet tears as she watched her firstborn getting married to the love of her life, the day was filled with unforgettable moments.

I started the day photographing Alissa’s vintage-inspired details. In case you didn’t know, shooting bridal details is one one of my favorite parts of the wedding day. It’s my warm up time to get my creative juices flowing, which helps to set the tone for the rest of the day. Alissa gave me a lot of cute details to work with and you’ll see below that I had a lot of fun with them!

Bridal party pictures proved to be a fun challenge due to the groomsmen’s high energy. Thanks to them, I laughed a little harder than usual (and worked a little harder as well, lol😏😆). But in all seriousness, they were so much fun! Tristan definitely picked the right guys to hype him up.

While I absolutely love the pictures we took that day, what will stand out to me most is the emotion-filled moments.

Some of my favorites:

• Alissa’s dad led her down the aisle and when they got to the front, he stopped to give a short speech. Alissa is their firstborn, so he went on to reminisce about all the firsts they’d had with her. When he ended the speech with the words, “She’s all yours now, Tristan,” I could have cried. It’s such a bittersweet moment when a dad lets go of his precious daughter and gives her to another man, fully trusting him to take care of her. Alissa held on to her dad for a few extra seconds before taking Tristan’s arm.
• After the vows, the parents came up to pray for the couple. God’s presence was definitely felt as they blessed and prayed over the new couple.
• Right after the ceremony, we went out to do the bride and groom pictures. And I’ll be the first to say, I wish every couple would do that! That “just married” energy just hits differently! We had a blast doing the pictures of just the two of them, and then we headed back for the reception.
• The father-daughter first dance was another one of the special moments. It was obvious that Alissa and her dad have a close relationship and I’m pretty sure there weren’t many dry eyes in the room when they finished their dance.
