Is it okay for photographers to have favorites? Because Tyler and Marcela’s wedding is one of my all-time favorites! From the first time I met them at their engagement session, I knew they would be fun to work with. When I met with them for the pre-wedding meeting to discuss details, I felt as though I were meeting with friends and not just clients.
Tyler and Marcela’s love story starts with them being good friends. Marcela hung out with Tyler’s sister a lot and even went to their family gatherings. They were in the same friend group for a few years and became very close, but told each other they’d never date each other. According to one of their friends, Marcela had said he was like a brother to her. But it didn’t take long until she started wondering what it would be like to date him. But she figured she’d never have a chance, because he just “saw her as a great friend.” A few months later, he asked her to go to a work posada with him as his plus one. She didn’t think anything of it because he’d asked her to be his plus one before, but always just as a friend. However, that night he ended up asking her to be his girlfriend. And the rest is history.
Tyler’s outgoing personality combined with a caring heart and good sense of humor make him a guy that’s fun and easy to be with. Without a doubt, he’s one of the good ones. And Marcela: not only is she drop-dead gorgeous, but her joy, laughter and energy brighten any room she’s in. She was such a radiant bride. As you can imagine, there’s never a dull moment with these two around. One of their favorite memories together is jumping into a pond in the middle of the night. That oughta tell you something about their energy and liveliness.
Some of the most special moments of their day:
- A first touch. Tyler and Marcela chose to do their first look when Marcela walked down the aisle, but they did a first touch shortly before the ceremony. Goodness, they were excited and I could tell Tyler could barely keep from peeping around the corner. They prayed together over their day and it was the sweetest thing.
- The first look down the aisle. Tyler’s reaction: priceless.
- Tyler and Marcela sang a beautiful song together at the reception.
- A surprise gift. Tyler surprised Marcela with the most adorable little puppy. Somehow the little furball knew that he was part of the family now and thought that naturally he would be included in all the pictures.
I had a hard time picking just a few of my favorites, so if you make it to the end of these 200+ pictures, good for you! I promise you won’t regret looking through them all though.
