Despite the rain and cold temperatures, Gavino & Diana’s wedding pictures turned out gorgeous!
When I realized that the forecast called for rain on the day of the wedding, I wasn’t too worried. After all, when is the forecast ever accurate, right? Well, this time it was. We were able to get most of the bride and groom photos done before the rain started though. When it was time for the pictures with the bridal party, it started drizzling. Thankfully the location had some shelter from the weather so the bridal party stayed dry. And thanks to my amazing assistant Lorissa who stood in the rain to hold an umbrella for me, my camera and I also stayed dry. (I don’t know what I would’ve done without her.) And while none of us would have chosen the weather we got, it just goes to show that even bad weather isn’t enough to spoil a wedding day. Diana trusted me to get the pictures she wanted and was willing to change plans to accommodate for the weather, which helped things go smoothly.
This was another one of those weddings where I knew Diana’s family because I had done her brother’s wedding 2 years ago. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: these types of weddings are always my favorite. I love meeting up and re-connecting with my past clients and their families.
One of the bittersweet moments of the day was when Diana walked down the aisle without her father by her side. He died a couple years ago, but oh how I wish he could’ve been there to escort his beautiful daughter down the aisle! Instead, Diana carried a picture of him in a bouquet charm as she walked down the aisle, holding her mom’s hand.
The best way to describe this wedding is real. It wasn’t perfect. Not everything went according to plan. But it was good! Despite the rain, despite the change of plans, despite the pain of a missing loved one, there was joy.
